Dennis Smith studied Fine Arts at the Parsons School of Design in New York
City. After moving from New York to Los Angeles, CA in 1989, Dennis worked
in the film industry for many years, eventually becoming a production
designer. However, it was his love and appreciation of architecture and
historical homes that eventually led him to leave the film business and
become a general contractor. For over 10 years, Dennis has specialized in
restoring and preserving the original architectural character of
historical homes while incorporating building methods of modern times to
add longevity, functionality, and value, as well as aesthetic beauty.
An integral part of any restoration project includes the repair and
reconstruction of original architectural elements, a genuine challenge in
the building industry. Dennis Smith believes that all homes exude an
original character and with careful preservation and renovation, a home
can retain the essence and charm of its glory days.
Dennis Smith Construction has an unwavering demand for quality workmanship. While Dennis works side by side among some of the most esteemed
architects, he is often very involved in the design process itself. Dennis
both designs and implements his projects with a highly skilled crew of
experienced craftsmen and subcontractors who are specialists in their
trade. His obsession with attention to detail is showcased in every
project he lends his name to and the results are of the highest level of
quality excellence and taste.
